Reggie Givhan is a multi-position player for the Hillgrove High School Hawks out of Powder Springs, Georgia.
While he is a versatile athlete, he sees most of his action at wideout. The 5’9 165 pounder can do a lot of things, as he even threw a touchdown pass this year for the 3-1 Hawks.
The junior is an absolute blazer, as he currently runs a 4.42 in the 40-yard dash! Showing off his strength as well, Reggie squats in at 340 pounds, over twice his body weight! He also adds an impressive max on the bench at 225 pounds.
This guy can win you weightlifting titles, in addition to all he does under those Friday Night Lights!
Hillgrove is off to a hot start this season, as they are 3-1. After they dropped a close contest to Norcross, the Hawks have ripped off three straight wins.
I had a chance to chat with the talented playmaker about his team’s chances this season, and he had great things to say.
“I feel like we will do really well this year,” Givhan said. “I really feel as though no team can compete with us. We are already off to a great start, with us being 3-1 on the year.”
It seems like the Hawks are the team to beat in 3-7A football in Georgia.
I wanted to know what makes the young man standout as a player, and he told me he can do big things with the ball in his hands.
“I know how to climb the ladder and go get the ball,” Givhan said. “I’m also good at breakout plays. My speed and quickness set me apart to break loose.”
As the late great Gale Sayers once said, “Give me 18 inches of daylight, that’s all I need.” It sounds as though this applies to this electric playmaker.
In addition to the touchdown pass that Reggie threw, he also has has two receiving touchdowns with 170 yards receiving. In total, Givhan has 231 all-purpose yards for the 2020 campaign.
As the season carries on, look for those numbers to increase as the Hawks love to air it out.
While Reggie does not have any offers to date, the playmaker looks to gain some exposure in the near future.
“I may not have any offers, but I know they are coming,” Givhan said. “I’m an underrated player but that’s gonna change real soon.”
Strong words from a strong young man.
Givhan seems to be harnessing his inner Baker Mayfield…a highly underrated player who went on to walk-on at not one, but two college football programs and eventually become a number one overall draft pick.
Givhan works hard in the classroom as well, as he currently boasts a 3.0 GPA, which is more than enough to qualify for next-level football.
Reggie knows that being a student always comes first when being a student-athlete.
Listen out for the name Reggie Givhan in the next two years. We believe it will be hard to not hear his name often!
