Ethan Price is a defensive tackle and nose tackle for the Cactus High School Cobras football team.
The sensational senior stands at 6’1 285 pounds and is the unquestioned leader on his defense.
In just three games, Price has thirteen total tackles with five of those being tackles for loss. He also adds an additional 3.5 sacks and nine quarterback pressures.
In his last game, he was tasked with facing off against the number one rated offensive lineman in Arizona. On thirty-two of the sixty-four plays he was in the game, he had to be doubled.
When he and I chatted, I began to wonder how he feels the team will do for this season, and he had some interesting things to say.
“After we came up one-point shy of making the state championship last year, we are on a mission,” Price said. “We are on a path of vengeance this year. Our motto for this season has been ‘Unfinished Business’ because this year, we are looking to get back what we lost last season.”
Sounds like a squad on a mission.
I also wondered what separated Ethan from other players.
I know that he was All-Region and All-West Valley last year, in addition to All-Arizona Academic, but I also wanted to know what is the difference between him and the next All-Region guys.
With his current 4.44 GPA, it’s no wonder that he has made the All-Arizona Academic honors.
“What makes me standout as a player, is my violent type of play,” Price said. “I also feel like my ability to get to the quarterback separates me. I like to pride myself on my initial punch and aggression while defeating and shedding blocks to make the plays. I play with a high-motor and give my all until the whistle blows every play.”
Price currently holds 10 offers, including one from Valparaiso.
Price is also another young man that benefits from the My Recruits company that we have previously written on.
