Marcello Williams is a sensational sophomore athlete for the Chargers of Central High School in Macon, Georgia.
The 5’9 140 pounder pays both wideout and cornerback for Central.
Though only 140 pounds, Williams proves he is a workhorse in the weight-room, as he is able to squat 325 pounds!
The sophomore is also burner as he runs a 4.67 in the 40-yard dash at such a young age, with time to still improve.
As he and the rest of the Chargers currently sit at 4-2, Williams feels as though their best football is ahead of them.
“We will make the playoffs if we keep working hard,” Williams said. “We have to work hard and not give up anything to the opposing teams.”
Sounds like he has great belief in his team!
When I asked what sets him apart from other players, I was pleased with what I heard from such a young man.
I play aggressively because I know that other guys are bigger than me,” Williams said. “As a result, I give everything I have until I can’t give anymore.”
You have to love the determination and work ethic!
Williams won’t let his size define him and his stats on the year back that up.
On the season, Williams already had twenty-one total tackles and three pass breakups. He is averaging nearly four tackles per game.
Not bad for a corner!
Opposing players aren’t the only ones being tackled, as Williams tackles his classwork. He currently has an impressive 3.5 GPA, which is more than enough to play next level sports.
As long as Williams can continue to grow both on and off the field, there is no reason this impressive young man won’t see the offers flow in really soon!
