Tyrese Miller is a talented athlete for the Waverly High School football team in Lansing Michigan.
The rising senior plays both quarterback and strong safety for the Warriors, but has gotten his most action at safety.
At safety, the junior was able to make three interceptions on the year, to go along with fifteen tackles.
Though a backup at quarterback this year to a senior, Miller hopes to take over as the full-time starter next fall.
“First and foremost, I want to make sure I lead more next year,” Miller said. “We have a lot of underclassmen on this team and I know that they will need guidance next year. i want to make sure that I provide that for them.”
“I want to make sure as a team, we work harder and we do not stop working. I hope to lead this team into great things next season.”
Certainly seems like Miller knows what he wants, and has a plan to achieve it.
To further prove that point of working hard, Miller shows great work ethic on and off the field. He currently runs a 4.8 in the forty-yard dash and a 4.14 in the twenty-yard shuttle, with a broad jump 113″.
The classroom is no different, as Miller holds a 3.5 GPA, showing college coaches he is serious about his schoolwork, in addition to the football field.
The junior currently stands at 6’3 175 pounds, which is great size already to play at the next level, with more time to grow.
The junior wanted me to know what makes him stand out as a player an what separates him from other players.
“My dedication to the game separates me,” Miller said. “I am always doing something to perfect my craft; whether it be lifting, running or throwing. Each day, I am working to get better.”
Sounds like Miller understands what it takes to become 1% better each day!
A quote that Miller lives by is “Be humble enough to be coachable, but also be confident enough to dominate your position.”
Wise words from a young man!
Miller hopes to lead his team to bigger and better things in the 2021 season.
