Christian Makanoeich is a junior that plays for Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Arizona.
Makanoeich is a kicker for the Eagles and is looking to help his team into a deep playoff run that started well last night.
“I feel like we will put up a good fight as we move forward,” Makanoeich said. We have Chaparral in the state semi-finals and I like our chances.”
Showing off his leg strength in other ways, Makanoeich is able to squat an impressive 315 pounds, as well as deadlift 385 pounds. All of this at only 160 pounds!
When it comes to the kicking game, there is not much that can hold Makanoeich back.
“I can do whatever is asked of me,” Makanoeich said. “Whether that be getting an onside kick, a bloop or nail a touchback, I can get it done for my team!”
“I have also been a consistent field goal kicker from fifty-yards, so I feel like that will help me get to the next level.”
Makanoeich also informed me that his coach had some high praise of his ability to kick the football. “O’Connor special teams coach Chi Pak described me as ‘the best kicker he’s coached yet’”
Always great to hear that you are the best to ever suit it up!
Although his season is not over yet, Makanoeich has had some impressive stats thus far, with time to add more. He has gotten 6 touchbacks, 23/26 PATs, 2/3 field goals, 1 bloop recovery and 2 tackles.
Makanoeich was also named as the O’Connor special teams player of the week, week 1 of the season, as well as top 10 in touchbacks on Max preps.
Makanoeich gets it done in the classroom, as well as on the field, as he currently holds a 3.79 GPA, which is more than enough to qualify him for the next level.
While Makanoeich has no offers, we feel like they will come in soon enough, as he is one of the most talented young kickers around!
