The senior plays in the trenches on both sides of the ball, seeing time in the interior of the line on both sides.
On offense, McGowan plays guard, and he finished his senior campaign with 18 pancake blocks on the year, while only allowing one sack.
On the defensive side of things, McGowan grabbed 21 tackles on the year to go along with 2 sacks and he recovered 2 fumbles as well.
Equally as effective on both sides, the 6’3, 305 pounder has the size and the abilities to play either way when he gets to the next level.
In the weight-room, McGowan works just as hard, as he has an impressive bench press max of 355 pounds and a squat max of 475 pounds! McGowan can also bench press 185 pounds and astonishing 27 times!
McGowan wanted to let coaches what kind of player they will be getting, if they are the lucky group to land this special young man.
“I am a hard worker, firstly,” McGowan said. “i even like to put in the extra work to get me to where I want to be. I am both a team player, and a leader. I dislike to lose and I will always work harder to get myself better than my competition.”
In the classroom, McGowan is taking care of things as well, as he has a current GPA of 3.2 and a score of 21 on the ACT that he took.
McGowan does have offers from Birmingham Prep, Trinity International University and Sterling College, in addition to a PWO offer at Alabama A&M. With his size and abilities, we are sure more schools will come looking soon!
