Player Spotlight: Owen Spell C/O ’22 Guard/Tackle

Owen Spell is a rising senior prospect out of Wayne County High School in Jesup, Georgia.

Spell started for the first time in his career, as a junior, for the Yellow Jackets, at offensive guard, but he will slide over to tackle next fall.

Standing at 6’6, 315 pounds, Spell is already at a great size to play at the next level, and teams should have him on their radar soon!

In the 2020 season, Spell had an astonishing 55 pancake blocks on the year! Somebody breakout the syrup for this young man!

After that impressive showing in his junior campaign, Spell was able to be named as First Team All-Region for 1-5A football in Georgia.

In the off season, Spell states that he will focus in on the weight-room, so that he can help his team even more next fall.

As a player, Spell states that his character and his work ethic are what sets him apart from other players.

In the classroom, Spell never slacks off, as he has a current GPA of 3.7, which will never have his coaches doubting whether he can qualify.

Spell wanted to give a special thanks to his offensive line coach, Thomas Swilley, a former Georgia Bulldog, as the best coach he has ever had. Spell states that Swilley really focuses on getting him to the next level.

Speaking of the next level, Spell’s recruitment is wide open, and he is excited about the thought of playing college ball.
