Player Spotlight: Jarvarius Sims C/O ’22 Defensive Back

Jarvarius Sims is a sensational senior athlete out of Martin Luther King Jr High School in Lithonia, Georgia, and he is the teammate of David Conner, who we have previously written on.

Sims plays on defense for the Lions, seeing time as a defensive back, but has the versatility to play other positions as well.

For his senior campaign, Sims had 25 tackles on the year, and 5 total touchdowns. He was lockdown all season at DB, as he finished with an astonishing 12 PBU’s on the year, as well as one pick-6!

Sims has blazing speed, as he has a current timed forty-yard-dash of 4.5, showing teams that he can hang with any wideout or tailback he has to cover.

In the weight-room, Sims holds his own as well, with a 365 pound squat and a bench press of 245 pounds.

Standing at 6’1, 181 pounds, Sims has great size and length to play anywhere in the secondary at the college level.

When I asked Sims what makes him standout as a player, he had some great things to say for prospective coaches.

“I play with a selfless mentality,” Sims said. “I will play any position that allows for my team to be in the best position necessary to win ball games.

“I also have the ability to tackle and that helps out in the run game. My cover skills are there as well, so I can play the pass too. I am also a great overall leader for my team.”

Sounds like a team at the next level will get a high-caliber player in Sims!

Sims currently holds nine offers, including an offer from William Penn. It will be interesting to see where this talented senior lands!
