Player Spotlight: Ira Tullous C/O ’21 Tailback/Defensive Back

Tullous #28

Ira Tullous is a sensational senior playmaker for St. Johns High School in St. Johns, Arizona, and he is the teammate of Cael Stewart, who we have previously written on.

Tullous plays on both sides of the ball for the Redskins, seeing time at tailback on offense and defensive back on defense.

As the leading rusher on the team, Tullous finished with 737 yards rushing in just 6 games, averaging 122.8 yards per game!

Tullous also averaged 9.8 yards per carry, nearly a first down every time he touched the ball, to go along with 4 rushing touchdowns on the year.

Tullous also proved he could catch, as he was second on the team in receiving yards, with 157, just 20 yards short of the team lead.

Tullous averaged 17.4 yards per catch, stretching the defenses all year, and also scored a touchdown. He also threw a 36-yard pass for good measure!

On defense, Tullous finished with 23 tackles, for just under 4 tackles per game, and he also added a tackle for loss on the year

In coverage, Tullous is a nightmare, picking off 2 passes on the year, with 83 return yards, in addition to 2 PBU’s!

Standing at 6’0, 165 pounds, Tullous has great size for either position, and could slide into either spot well.

With blazing speed, Tullous runs an impressive 4.4 in the forty-yard-dash, making him tough for defenders to catch, and hard for wideouts to beat.

In the weight-room, Tullous dominates, like on the football field, as he has a max squat of 425 pounds, well over twice his body-weight!

Tullous cites this past season as his most productive season so far, and that his motivation and to finish things got him through the year.

Tullous currently holds an offer from the UC Vipers out of Monroe, North Carolina, from Coach Donald Kingcade and his staff.
