Player Spotlight: Jac Cox C/O ’22 Wideout

Jac Cox is a junior playmaker for McGehee High School in McGehee, Arkansas.

Cox plays on offense for the Owls, seeing time at wideout, and plays a pivotal role on the team that made a deep playoff run in 2020.

Standing at 6’1, 160 pounds, Cox has great size already for the position, and could grow even bigger before it is all said and done!

In the forty-yard-dash, Cox has a current time of 4.69, and his thumb to pinkie measurements are 9 inches!

Cox and his teammates had a great season, going undefeated until the state championship, which ended in a heartbreaking loss.

“We had a good team and finished with a great year,” Cox said. “I was excited for my coach, Marcus Haddock, to be able to win the 3A Coach of the Year Award. I had a very good offseason, which prepared me for the season that we had this year.

“I am very excited for the season upcoming, being my senior year, because it is my time to shine. Losing that last game left a bad taste in our mouths, and we will do whatever it takes to make it back. Track starts soon and I want to have a breakout year in that as well!”

As a player, Cox knows he has to do things to seperate himself from other players, so that schools will come looking, and he works to do just that!

“I feel like I am a great teammate,” Cox said. “I also have a big personality that people tend to love. Along with the character things, I make sure I take care of the details that many people tend to skip over.

“I block downfield, and I catch passes with ease. I feel like there are not many wideouts in this class that can block, and that puts me ahead of them a bit.”

With a 3.8 GPA in the classroom, Cox will earn his fair share of offers in the next year, as he can be admitted to a handful of schools with such great GPA.

Cox currently holds an offer from SAGU, but look for him to pull in even more as he is also a member of the My Recruits program, who will have previously written on, and is one of the top recruiting services in the country. Coach Lou Perrone and his staff do a great job at getting guys recruited, and it is likely more teams will take a chance on Cox very soon!
