Player Spotlight: Quinton Jones C/O ’24 Tailback/Athlete

Quinton Jones is a phenomenal freshman athlete for Jersey Village High School in Houston, Texas.

Jones primarily plays tailback for the Falcons, but is versatile enough to line up at other positions when needed.

Standing at 5’10, 197 pounds already, Jones has the size of an NFL player, drawing comparisons to Christian McCaffrey in that regard. Being just a freshman, Jones still has plenty of time to grow even more!

On the field, Jones certainly does not play like a freshman, as he ran for 405 yards in 2020, on just 53 carries. That average yards per carry of 7.6 led the team. He was also second in yards per game on the team, and finished with 5 touchdowns in a tough 6-A region.

It would seem like the future is bright for the Falcons with Jones carrying the rock!

In the weight-room, Jones works as hard as he does on the football field, with his squat max being 340 pounds! He also runs a 4.63 in the forty-yard-dash!

Jones knows that playing in that 6-A region, in one of the toughest states to play football, that he has to do things to separate himself from the rest of the players in the state to get to the next level.

“I feel that I am a team player first,” Jones said. “I always love to make plays for my team. I am also a hard-nosed runner with the ball in my hand. Not only am I physical, but I also have the ability to make defenders miss.”

Sounds like Jones is an all-around tailback!

In the classroom, Jones takes care of business as well, as he already has a 3.0 GPA, which is more than enough to qualify him for collegiate level sports.

While we have a few years before we will get to see him officially sign, we feel like Jones will be one of the top players in the country to watch!
