The dominant athlete plays in the trenches for the Bulldogs, seeing time as an offensive tackle, primarily as the team’s left tackle, protecting the blind side of the quarterback.
Standing at 6’4, 280 pounds, Darlington already has great size to play on the offensive line, with plenty of time to still grow before he is done playing at the high school level.
Although his season is over for this year, as his team was fortunate to play in the fall, Darlington is getting bigger, faster, stronger for his senior campaign.
“I am currently in my offseason right now,” Darlington said. “With that being said, I am lifting every day, so that I can get faster and stronger. We got a new head coach, so I am learning the new offense, soaking in everything that I can so that I can be successful.”
Talk about a student of the game.
Speaking of being a student, there are not many that are better in the classroom than Darlington. With an outstanding 4.29 GPA, Darlington could qualify to get an offer from nearly any school in the country!
Darlington knows that while the classroom is important, and he clearly works at it, and he also knows that he has to separate himself on the field as well.
“I think that my biggest asset as an offensive lineman, is my ability to have a relentless finishing ability,” Darlington said. “I will always drive to the whistle, no matter where the ball is. I also love to study the game and continue to soak up the playbook.”
Seems like Darlington is a great student on and off the field!
Darlington loves the game of football, and that love drives him to play hard.
“I love the aspect of the brotherhood in football,” Darlington said. “That brotherhood can be seen in the weight-room, practicing, or just in general. I love to push my teammates to be the best versions of themselves.
“I also love the competitive nature of the sport, whether it is in the weight-room, or the practice field, where I compete with my teammates daily!”
With one offer currently from Air Force, we believe that this impressive player will be able to pull in many more before it is all said and done, and we are excited to see where he ends up taking his talents!
