Davontis Clements: 5’9 165 Wideout
In watching some tape of Clements, the first highlight that I saw was an amazing one-handed touchdown grab in a game that showed the athleticism and playmaking ability that he is capable of. Shows he has a great leaping ability and is not afraid to go up and make the tough grab in coverage. Routinely makes catches with multiple defenders guarding him. Has great feet and great route-running ability. Routinely puts defenders on skates with his ability to cut on a dime. Has a great release that can beat press coverage. Despite his playing size in the season only being 146 pounds, routinely made big-time blocks that extended plays for his team.
Speaking of weight, Clements has also added 19 pounds since his senior season ending a short time ago, so that he can head into college a bit bigger than he was. With a frame similar to that of Jaylen Waddle, we feel Clements will be a productive player for Bethune-Cookman for several years to come. He possesses many talents that you would like to see of a wideout, and we feel like he will do special things on and off the field for the Wildcats!
