Hooper Profile: Jeremiah Coleman Transfer Point Guard

Jeremiah Coleman: 6’1 190 Point Guard
Possesses the speed and the quickness to be able to get around the defender, and then take it to the hole. Not afraid to drive in through traffic and finish a play. Has great vision to be able to see the whole floor, and makes good, clean passes. Handles the ball well and is a threat to score at any time, from anywhere. Has the ability to go up and down the court on both the left and right sides, leaving defenders to have to work harder to figure out where he is going, often leading them to a standstill while he blows past them. Great handler of the basketball, and he seems to never be out of control with it in his hands. Has a nice stepback jumper as well. Can pull up from three-point range and drain the shot with ease one play, and then drive to the hole and lay it in over two defenders the next play. Very hard to judge what he is going to do based off of his quick first step. A true scoring nightmare for any defender or defense to try and defend. Is not afraid to pull up from beyond the three-point line and has the range to drain the shot. Will be a problem for any defense that he faces.

Our assessment of Coleman is that he is a scoring nightmare. He looks to be very much in control of himself and his game when he is on the offensive side of the ball. There are not many shots that seem to be out of his range, and that will be a great too for him when he gets to the next level. It will be interesting to see just where this impressive young man takes his talents next!

We also featured Coleman in our Hooper Spotlight article, which details him as a player and as a person, as well as in the classroom.
