Camp Spotlight: Compete24~Columbus

Compete24 held a camp in Columbus, Ohio, on July 17, 2021, which saw over 100 talented football players showcase their talents on the big stage!

With a star-studded cast of athletes from nearby and prominent high schools, as well as a a few athletes that made the trip from surrounding states, the Compete24 camp was yet again a big success for the athletes that attended.

Bishop Sycamore, who currently has twenty-nine players on their roster with D1 offers, sent twenty-one of their players to the camp to compete and prepare themselves for the fourth-toughest strength of schedule in the country this fall!

In addition to Bishop, other top programs sent their athletes to compete, including the likes of Colerain High School, St. Edwards High School, Springfield High School and Lakota West High School.

Not only were there top athletes from big time schools in attendance, but Notre Dame College, Ohio Wesleyan, Otterbein University, Capital University and Bishop Sycamore Prep and other programs were in attendance, as well as coaching the athletes.

To say that the Compete24 camp is a big deal for the athletes in the communities that they serve, is a vast understatement. With all of the colleges in attendance, athletes are able to showcase their best skills for teams that may want to recruit them!

With that being said, it is time to see what we all came for, and that is to put on a show in your respective positions, and accomplish great things, in hopes of being one of the top performers, in one of the best camps in the country!

Tywan January, above, is a dominant defensive lineman out of Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio, and he managed to win camp MVP, and was the best overall player at the camp! January currently holds an offer from Akron!

Jeremy Naborne of Bishop was also a camp MVP, a four-star athlete that dominated at both wideout and corner, and holds offers from The Ohio State University, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, UNLV, Iowa, Syracuse and others.

Tyler Tusai rounded out the top-three performers for the camp. He was also voted as the top-performer for the quarterbacks, and he is in the class of 2024 for Padua Franciscan High School, which is based out of Parma, Ohio.

Other top performers at the camp included Wideouts Kyler Johnson, Sincere Thomas and three-star Andrew Price, tailback Elijah Ugorji, as well as Jailen Knight, a three-star quarterback, all of which currently play for Bishop Sycamore.

The top offensive linemen included the likes of Kevin O’Doherty, who made the trip up from Kentucky, Benjamin Roebuck of St. Edward, who is a massive 6’8, 320 pound prospect in the ’24 class, as well as ZyAaron Woodruff of Springfield High School.

On the defensive side of the ball, Dominic Row of Northview High School and Myonte Stanley of Colerain were the top linebackers, with Xavian Andrews of New Albany High School being the top defensive back.

Kaedan Faggs of ran one of the fastest 40 times, and won the fastest camper race after the combine testing. DeAngelo Hall and Cam Gumbo both ran a 4.47, and 2024 defensive back Reed Johnson ran a 4.5. Jason Moore is a tailback that was a top performer at the camp.

With another elite camp in the books, Compete24 is an organization that continues to prove that they are a great source for athletes to come out, compete, get tested in a number of skills and drills, and be seen by college coaches!

If you are an athlete that is looking for a chance to go to a camp that is done correctly, I encourage you to get noticed by them! As a coach looking for playmakers, look no further than those featured at these camps, because they are getting the best training and coaching possible, to develop them into players that are ready for the next level!
