Hooper Spotlight: Quayvon Cyrus C/O ’23 Combo Guard

Quayvon Cyrus is a talented athlete out of Parkersburg High School, which is located in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Cyrus is a member of the basketball team with the Big Reds, and he sees time at both the point guard and shooting guard positions.

In addition to basketball, Cyrus is a multi-sport athlete, as he also plays football and runs track for his school.

As far as football goes, Cyrus has great speed, with his 4.6 in the forty-yard-dash, and also has a 31 inch vertical.

Coming off of his sophomore campaign, Cyrus has high hopes for what his team can do this upcoming year.

I feel like this season is on us as a team,” Cyrus said. “We can have a great season and I think that things can go well for us.”

Every player has certain tendencies that make them standout from other players, and Cyrus feels he is no different.

“I like to think that I have great court vision,” Cyrus said. “I also feel as though my athleticism is a big part of my game, as well as my defense.”

During the hard times, the greats always have something to lean on to keep them motivated, and Cyrus does as well.

“I play this game because I love it with everything in me,” Cyrus said. “What drives me is seeing people that count on me and believe in me.”

With his 3.3 GPA in the classroom, and the fact that he is ranked as the number 36 overall player in his class for the state of West Virginia, we feel he will have the offers rolling in within no time!
